John Crane

September 23, 1962 - December 17, 2018

John C. Crane, 56, of Nederland, died Monday, December 17, 2018, at Houston Methodist Hospital. He was born September 23, 1962, in Long Beach, California, to Rita Yolanda Soliz Crane and James Carroll Crane.

John was a member of  St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, Father William Brooks Council #5145, Nederland and a longtime member of the Lions Club. He was also the business manager for Mid-County Florist, Nederland, for many years. For the past fifteen years he worked as a sales consultant for J.K. Chevrolet, Nederland. He enjoyed traveling, meeting new people, and fast cars. John was a very outgoing person that never met a stranger.

Survivors include his daughter, Alisha Kinney, of Groves; granddaughter, Brenda Elizabeth Kinney; mother, Rita Crane, of Nederland; sister, Suzanne Gilcrease, of Nederland; nieces, Merri Joyas, of Pearland and Rachel Johnson and her husband, Aaron, of Nederland; great-nieces, Kaydence and Laurel Johnson; and great-nephews, Julian Joyas and Jaxon Johnson.

He was preceded in death by his father, James C. Crane.

A gathering of Mr. Crane’s family and friends will begin 5:00 p.m., with his memorial service at 6:00 p.m., Friday, December 21, 2018, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. His private family committal will be held at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.
