Joyce Reed

Joyce Lynn Manuel Reed, 66, of Vidor, died Monday, January 7, 2019, at Vidor Health and Rehabilitation. She was born on December 3, 1952, to Alice Landry Manuel and Ed Manuel, in Sulphur, Louisiana. Joyce was an avid bingo player and loved making trips to the casino. She enjoyed cooking her “goofballs” for her family and friends. 

Survivors include her husband of thirty-five years, Walter R. Reed; daughters, Jessica Tillman and her husband, Rocky, of Orangefield; Alician Dyson and her husband, Joe, of Vidor; Jamie Walker and her husband, Matt, of Humble; sons, Timothy Reed and his wife, Donna, of Vidor; Joey Reed and Wesley Reed, both of Dayton; sister, Becky Hagar, of Sulphur; brothers, Edgar Manuel, of Sulphur; Thomas Manuel and his wife, Shirley, of Alexandria, Louisiana; and Jason Manuel, of Sulphur; fifteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and numerous relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Mike Manuel and Ed Manuel, Jr.; sisters, Wilhemena Manuel, and Abigail Adams; and son, Thomas Reed.

A gathering of Mrs. Reed’s family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Saturday, January 12, 2018, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. Her funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, January 13, 2018, at Broussard’s.
