Karen Aileen Hawthorne

October 25, 1951 - April 3, 2020

Karen Aileen Hawthorne, age 68, (please don’t be upset with me for giving out your age) passed away in her home in Humble, TX on Friday, April 3, 2020.

Affectionately known by her grandchildren and family as Abuelita or Aunt Nana Dear. Karen was beyond committed to her family and friends. She was especially faithful to her four-legged friends, feeding stray dogs on the streets of Houston while on her way home from work every afternoon. She adored her coworkers at Big Tex Air of Houston, where she served the past five years as head CPA. Karen was strongly entwined with all things political and followed the current news concerning it with a passion. She would unashamedly tell you, “Go Trump 2020”.

Karen is survived by her son, Trip Singer and his wife, Donna; her grandchildren Taylor and Ashlan, along with their husbands, and three great-grandchildren; brother, Charles Hawthorne; her niece Priscilla Wallace; and many nieces and nephews.

Karen is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Edith Hawthorne; her sister, Alecia Hawthorne; and her niece, Crystal Mckrill.

There will be no service at this time due to Covid19 precautions. A family graveside service for Ms. Hawthorne will be held at Bethany Cemetery, Colmesneil, under the direction of Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
