Mr. Dowden was a wonderful teacher. He was uninhibited and would break out in song in class. He was gentle but firm. See you in Heaven Mr. Dowden.

Mr. Dowden was my fourth grade teacher at Pietzsch Elementary School, upstairs in the back annex building, in Beaumont (in the South Park I.S.D.), way back in 1963. I remember him being very kind, and interesting - A very good teacher!. He brought honeycombs full of honey for all of us to taste - I will never forget that! I have loved honey ever since that day.

I was in Mr. Dowden’s 4th grade class in 1963-64. He was an incredible teacher and I loved being in his class. I also remember him playing the piano and singing a song as we worked on our schoolwork. What a blessing it was for me to be in Mr. Dowden’s class.
