Laura Beth Cowart Henderson

January 26, 1959 - July 19, 2017

Laura Beth Cowart Henderson, 58, of Nederland, died Wednesday, July 19, 2017. She was born on January 26, 1959, in Beaumont, to Ina Patricia “Patsy” and Bernice Gerald “Jerry” Cowart, and had been a longtime resident of the area.

Laura enjoyed music and singing and was an active member at her church. More than anything else, she loved loved spending time with her family. She worked for The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. Beaumont Chemical Plant as a Manager of Accounting, where she was blessed to have a network of caring friends she thought of as family who enriched her life and made her many years there much more than work.

She dedicated her entire life to her family and friends, tirelessly and selflessly providing support and encouragement, pulling the best out of everyone she spent time with. She was a pillar of strength, energy, and character for her children and grandchildren, demonstrating selfless love and devotion every day while challenging them to do the same. She shaped their lives with a richness of experience and depth of love that will be carried in their hearts forever.

Laura is survived by her sons, Jared Henderson and his fiancé, Kaytlin; Tyler Henderson and his wife, Shelly; step-mother, Peggy Cowart; step-father, Garland Allison; niece, Stephanie Cowart Luke and her husband, Andy; grandchildren, Tristan Hales, Morgan Hales, and Kaitlyn Henderson; and sister-in-law, Helga Cowart Briscoe; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Patsy Allison and Jerry Cowart; brothers, Steven Dale Cowart and Kirk Cowart; and step-brother, Darrin Dykes.

Memorial contributions may be made in Ms. Henderson’s memory to Christian Fellowship Worship Center, 3950 Pointe Parkway, Beaumont, Texas 77706.

A gathering of Ms. Henderson’s family and friends will be at 1:00 p.m., followed by her funeral at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 29, 2017, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Her interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
