Lois Forbes

April 24, 1926 - August 27, 2018

Lois Forbes of Spring, Texas died August 27, 2018 at the age of 92. She was born April 24, 1926 in St. Paul Minnesota to Elvera Nettie Hedlund and Rudolph Ernest Lind.

Lois was “Nanny” to her family and will be remembered for her quilt making and gardening. Lois loved to cook for family and guests and also decorated beautiful cakes. Her greatest love in life was reading, solving crossword puzzles and bingo. She was married to Bill Forbes (PaPa) for 61 years. They enjoyed family and travel. They lived in Beaumont, Texas most of their married life and were very active in Bethleham Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her daughter Carol Gerberman and her husband, Bill; daughter-in-law, Cindy Forbes; grandchildren Mark Gerberman and his wife, Kelly; Dan Gerberman and his wife, Michelle; Shawn Sheffield and her husband, Ron; Nicole Forbes; and Sam Forbes; great-grandchildren, Stella Gerberman, Elizabeth Gerberman, Emily Gerberman, Aidan Sheffield; Lindy Sheffield; sister, Sally Shugren; brothers, Gerald Eggert, Roy Eggert, Lloyd Eggert, and Vernon Lind. Numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Billy D. Forbes, Sr.; son, Billy D. Forbes, Jr.; and brother Raymond Lind.

A private committal for Mrs. Forbes was held at Houston National Cemetery, under the direction of Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont.

Nanny, I sure will miss you! I am just so happy you are in heaven surrounded by all that you love, what a great celebration it must be! I have always felt so lucky to be a part of the Forbes family. I love you and thanks for all the memories!

carol, I am so sorry to read about your Mom's death. She was such a sweet person. I remember all the slumber parties when she would lest us make purple cool whip and the other fun things she allowed us to do. May God give you and your family the strength to get thru these coming days.
