Madge leatherwood Nichols

April 25, 1927 - July 2, 2017

 

Mrs. Madge Nichols went to be with her Lord on July 2, 2017. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, but above all else a devoted wife to Raymond Nichols for sixty-eight years. Madge loved to travel and they resided in California and Washington state before moving back to Texas.

She was an accomplished landscape artist and flower gardener. Her faith was Jehovah’s witness. Madge was a true believer and belonged to the Kingdom Hall on Major Drive, Beaumont.

She is survived by her husband, Raymond Nichols of Beaumont; children, James Ray Nichols and his wife, Helen, of Lumberton; Raymond, Jr. (Buddy) of Washington State, and Ruby Joyce Tucker and her husband, Gene, of Beaumont; and sisters, Cilie Smith and her husband, Kenneth, of Lumberton; Lynette Fregia and her husband, Wesley, of Winnie; and Carol Glanert of Minnesota. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Irene Leatherwood of Lumberton; brothers; George, Roy, Bill, Johnny and Sonny Leatherwood; and sister,  Eunice Leatherwood.

A gathering of Mrs. Nichols’ family and friends will be from 8:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m., Saturday, July 8, 2017, at  Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer, Winnie. Her graveside service will follow at 10:00 a.m., at Fairview Cemetery, Winnie.
