Margaret Elaine Brown
Margaret Brown, 73, died Thursday, July 15, 2021. She was born November 19, 1947, in Beaumont, Texas, to Betty and Jack Watson.
She and her husband, Clarence R. Brown, enjoyed traveling together throughout the country to his many work locations. As they traveled, she took advantage of the opportunity to collect antiques (a life-long interest). After returning to the Beaumont area, she was a long-time employee of Holiday Inn (both the Mid-town and Beaumont Plaza locations), befriending both co-workers and clients.
Margaret moved to a senior apartment complex when a hurricane damaged her home beyond repair. She enjoyed the companionship and camaraderie of many friends and neighbors while residing there. Never without at least one canine companion, she lovingly cared for (and spoiled) many furry friends. A nonconformist, she lived life on her own terms.
Margaret is predeceased by her parents, her husband, and a nephew, Shannon White. She is survived by her sisters, Ann White (Clyde) and Linda Vogel (Ed); one nephew, Eric Vogel; and two nieces, Gretchen Richardson and Carole Hyde.
As her health declined, her family was grateful for the loving care provided by her caregiver, Karrie, very special friends and neighbors, and by the staff of Silsbee Oaks Health Center.
A gathering of Mrs. Brown’s family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 20, 2021, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 21, 2021, at Magnolia Cemetery, 2291 Pine Street, Beaumont.

Margaret was my friend and light. She was my last wheelchair client. She was my thanksgiving turkey provider. She was the voice of reasoning when I would let my negative mind get the best of me. She provided laughter and a cold soda on every visit. She showed me how to be generous during slim times. She will be missed. She was my friend!!!!!!!!

Margaret was an extraordinary friend & confidant. We met at work at Southern Avionics. She had a wonderful way of sharing all things, in good times & bad. We had a mutual fondness of critters & crafts. My favorite memory is sharing chili burgers & cokes & how it made us feel rich. I will cherish the memories of 38 years forever. Margaret- to me she is Mac-has a special place in my heart. I always considered her my godmother because she was like a bonus mom to me. She was always there for me for my whole like and we always had so much fun together. She treated me like I was hers and she truly loved me just as I did her. I have so many wonderful memories of her that I will cherish forever. My memories of her and Brown are from as far back as I can remember because they were always there. I pray she finds peace and happiness and no more pain. She will be in my heart forever.

My beautiful Lovie. Not only did I care for her for 5 1/2 yrs, she cared for me in a way I couldn't have ever imagined. She was my friend, my confidant, my let's get outta town lady.
