Margaret Mallet

Margaret Maria Mallet, 60, of Beaumont, received her angel wings December 26, 2018. She passed peacefully surrounded by her family and lifelong extended family, all whom loved her dearly.

Margaret was born on July 20, 1958 at Fort Hood Military Base in Killeen, Texas, to Concetta Pitone Hargroder and Norris F. Mallet, both of whom preceded her in death.

Margaret was a 1976 Graduate of South Park High School and a Graduate of Lamar University obtaining a teaching degree. She taught secondary education for more than 20 years for the BISD and several other school districts. She loved teaching and went above and beyond for her students.

Margaret loved spending time with family and friends, and her favorite pastime was baking for them. Everyone loved her tea cakes. She especially loved being an Aunt and Godmother to her many nieces and nephews. One of her greatest joys in recent years was being "Mar Mar" to little Connor and spending her days with him and his Grandmother, Tammy. She also took joy in spending time with her nephew, Caleb, going on breakfast dates, helping out with school projects and teaching him how to drive. She was loved by many and whether you knew her as Margaret, Maggie, Aunt Margaret or Mar Mar she loved each of you dearly.

Margaret is survived by sisters, Janet Sterling and husband, Jimmy, of Beaumont; Bonnie Petkovsek and husband, David, of Conroe; Connie Thomasson and husband, Bart and nephew, Caleb, of Fannett; Carol Ann Hargroder of Beaumont; numerous cousins, godchildren, nieces and nephews, and extended family here in the states, and Italy.

The family would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Wayne Margolis and Dr. Shariq Ahmad, and the many doctors and nurses who took such great care of Margaret over the years and this last year especially. We would also like to thank all the staff of Summer Place.

A family committal was held at Broussard's Crematorium under the direction of Broussard's, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 10900-B Stonelake Boulevard, Suite 320, Austin, Texas 78759 or to a charity of one's choice.

Such a sweet, sweet lady. She opened her home for me for a couple of weeks until my apartment got ready years ago and I'll never forget it. Until we meet again, sweet Margaret, you will be missed by many. God bless

Maggie was a member of South Park Baptist church while my husband James pastored there for 22years. Always. a smile, many times through tremendous pain. Her lasagna was awesome!
