Marie Martin, 66, of Nederland, died Saturday, December 8, 2018. She was born on March 19, 1952, in Port Arthur, to Hazel Marie Terry Thweatt and Eliis Elbert Thweatt, Sr.

Marie worked as a child care provider at Green Frog Day Care. She and her mother were the former owners of Jack -N- Jill Day Care.

Survivors include her son, David Lewis and his wife, Roseann Lewis, of Port Arthur; father, Ellis Elbert Thweatt and his wife, Ann Thweatt, of Nederland; granddaughters, Mallory Lewis of Port Arthur, Ashley Miller of Groves, Megan Havens, and Savannah Havens, both of Fannett; great-grandchildren, Kylie Havens of Fannett, Kaisyn Edelen, Dysin Miller, and Cassius Edelen, all of Groves; and brother, Ellis Thweatt, Jr. of Nederland.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Hazel Marie Thweatt; and husband, Ed Martin.

A gathering of Mrs. Martin’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, December 13, 2018, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Her funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 14, 2018, at Broussard’s, Nederland, with her interment following at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Groves.
