Marjorie Spurlock

Marjorie Elizabeth Spurlock, 97, of Beaumont, died Wednesday, December 19, 2018, at Christus Hospital-St. Elizabeth, Beaumont. She was born on December 31, 1920, to Pauline Noble Hoffman and F.H. Hoffman, in Beaumont. Marjorie retired as a school teacher from BISD after thirty years of service. She was also a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church and was very active in the Women’s Club of Beaumont. Marjorie enjoyed working in her yard and keeping up her garden.

Survivors include her son, L.O. Spurlock, Jr. of Beaumont; grandson, Scott Spurlock and his wife, Tiffany, of Frisco; great-grandchildren, Olivia Spurlock, Alexander Spurlock, and Nick Spurlock; niece, Cynthia McVicar and her husband, Ron, of Claremore, Oklahoma; and cousins, Gene Noble and Kay Noble.

She is preceded in death by her husband.

A gathering of Mrs. Spurlock’s family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m., with her funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 26, 2018, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A private burial will take place at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
