Mary Ann Sparacino, of Beaumont, Texas, passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2018, at The Forum at Memorial Woods in Houston, Texas. Mary Ann was born on April 22, 1929, to Sarah Louise Lasuzzo Sparacino and Joseph Phillip Sparacino at the Hotel Dieu Hospital in Beaumont. A miracle of Amazing Grace from the beginning, she was stillborn and revived by an attentive nurse, whom she had the opportunity to thank as an adult for giving her a second chance to live. She has now experienced that Amazing Grace a second time. Throughout her life she responded to all challenges with a contagious cheerfulness and smile.

Mary Ann graduated from Beaumont High School in 1946 and enjoyed a long career in the trust department of Texas Commerce Bank in Beaumont until retirement. She was a member of St. Anthony Cathedral Basilica until her move to Houston in 2013. She was a member of the choir for many years and was honored to perform solo on numerous occasions.

Preceded in death by her parents and sister, Laura Mae Sparacino, Mary Ann is survived by her sister, Patricia Ann Bruno of Houston; nieces and nephews, Christopher, Michelle, Leslie, Nicole, and Patrick; great-nieces and nephews, Sarah, Cade, Emily, Hunter, Chase, Ellis, Ethan, and Karis; and other loving family members.

You are our letter, written on our hearts, to be known and read by all; and you show that you are a letter of Christ, prepared by us, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.
