Mary Batson Gobert
Mary Cathryn Batson Gobert, 68, of Vidor, died Friday, August 3, 2018, at Harbor Hospice, Beaumont. She was born on November 12, 1949, to Mary Addy Alfred and Melburn John Batson, in Many, Louisiana.
Survivors include her husband, Rodney Gobert; daughters, Cheryl Marie Bouse and her husband, Randy T. Bouse, of Fred; Samantha “Sam” Rae Martin and her husband, Brian G. Martin, of Lumberton; brother, Bubba Batson; grandchildren, Randi Marie Bouse, Thomas Anthony “Tony” Rogers, Gabriel Ray Rogers; and cousin, Carol Ann Greer and her husband, Lloyd, of Gladewater, Texas.
She is preceded in death by her sister, Eula Irene Batson-Dillon.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont.

I only met this wonderful woman and Rodney one time. My son and his family had lost their home in a fire. She and Rodney got clothes and all sorts of things together for them. I said 'thank you so much Mary". She told me her friends called her Cathy. And she was Cathy always afterwards. Rest in peace my friend. Rodney and family I hope you have peace knowing that her suffering is now over and she is happy and whole.

Cathy was responsible for getting me to the luncheons. We worked together on so many things and always enjoyed each others company. I'm so glad that we went to visit last week. I'm glad that she no longer suffers any pain, vision is fully restored and she is walking, hell, probably dancing, with some of our other friends that have passed on too soon.
