I was surprised and shocked to learn this. I'll always remember his tender, thoughtful support, and encouragement when Suzi was terminal. He was so talented and very interesting. A one-of-a-kind guy. I'm so sorry for Nancy and the whole family. I'll be praying for your grief to heal in peace.

Nancy and family, I am an old Levelland High School classmate of Maurice's so I knew him from elementary school through our graduation in 1955 from LHS.. He always attended our reunions and often played his Indian flute for us. He grew dearer to me each time I saw him, always smiling and full of good humor and grace. I was saddened and shocked to read of Maurice's death as he seemed so full of life when we met last in 2019. I send you and all of the family my deepest condolence at the loss of this fine man. He cast a bright light each time we met. Rest in peace and love, dear friend. With love and sympathy, Gracie, (as Maurice called me)

What a joy after not seeing Maurice since Levelland High School in the 1950's to get reaquainted at Golden Fifties gatherings, to learn of our mutual love of Mason County where our familoy has a little cottage, and to see and hear him play his exquisitely crafted flutes. We send sympathy to his family but know heaven's music will be more beautiful with the addition of Maurice's talents.

Nancy, I am so, so sorry to hear of Maurice’s passing! You and Maurice have been on my mind lately and I was planning on sending you both a message to see how you were doing.. I am truly heartbroken for you and your family as well as losing such a dear friend! Maurice was such a gentle, kind and funny man and I loved him, too! Anyone who knew him loved Maurice!! You and Maurice were such a special couple together; I could easily see the strength in your love. Please know you and your family are in my thoughts, heart and prayers . Those of the flute community know that loss as well. Maurice was truly a very special man in so many ways. He and Mr. Bill will surely provide Heaven with lots of laughter and music.....and I like to think of Maurice there with the smile he always wore. Take care, Nancy.

We will always miss Maurice, and remember the weeks of music, laughter, and stories he and Nancy shared with so many in Pagosa Springs, his childhood special summer home. The flute world has lost a very special and gifted man
