Nannie Belle Coffey Mull

Nan Coffey Mull, 96, of Nederland, died Tuesday, July 21, 2020. She was born March 18, 1924, in Beaumont, to Ruth and Finley Coffey.

Nan was a homemaker but around 1958 she attended cosmetology school. After she graduated in 1960, she and her husband, Homer, had a home and beauty shop built in Nederland where they moved their family. She had a thriving business until she retired and finished raising her family. After Nan and Homer’s retirement, they bought a travel trailer and enjoyed camping and visiting many national parks. They also bought a 1972 Honda 350 motorcycle and toured the town.

Nan enjoyed planting flowers and waiting for them to bloom. There were a lot of failures in blooming her flowers, so she resorted to cactus and several other prickly and stabbing plants which thrived and caused much misery to those who had to mow. Eventually, Nan returned to flowers and had much success. She also enjoyed other hobbies such as sewing, needle point, and quilting.

Nan was full of life, laughs, and love which flowed through her devotion to her family and friends. She was deeply loved and will be truly missed.

Survivors include her daughters, Judy Pike, of Highland and La Nan Christopher and husband, Wesley, of Bridge City; grandchildren, Clayton Christopher, of Porter; Darrell and Darren Christopher, of Bridge City; Dana Williamson and her husband, Jon, of Houston; and Julie LaCombe and her husband, Jeff, of Houston; and eighteen great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ruth and Finley Coffey; husband of sixty-one years, Homer Mull, Jr.; sons, Albert Philip Mull and Edward Lucky Mull; grandsons, Leroy Pike, Jr. and Brandon Lee Christopher; and sisters, Audrey Gonzales Stovall; Betty Shipp; Ruth Babineaux; Dorothy Yoakum; and Mary Holland Pickett.

A private family service for Mrs. Mull will be held at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Her interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
