Nelda Cupples

Nelda Radine Cupples, 83, of Silsbee, died Tuesday, December 25, 2018. She was born on April 9, 1935, in Lufkin, to Ollie Mae Allen Bailey and Alvin Ray Bailey.

Survivors include her sons, Donald Colwell and his wife, Cindy, of Lumberton; and Anthony Colwell of Iola; grandchildren, Christina Hernandez of Lumberton; Rebecca Allison McGee and her husband, Joe, of Richmond; Stephanie Powers and her husband, Ben, of Groves; Matthew Colwell and his wife, Amanda, and Madeline Colwell, all of Houston; Kara Colwell of Stillwater, Oklahoma; Rachel Colwell of Tucson, Arizona; and James Colwell of Iola; great-grandchildren, Alexander Hernandez, Katie Hernandez, Conor McGee, Ethan McGee, Aurora Powers, Regan McGee, Charlotte Jean “C.J.” Colwell, and Samantha Colwell; and brothers, Norris Bailey and his wife, Clara Joe, of Huntsville; and Lawrence Bailey.

Nelda is preceded in death by her parents; stepmother, Linnie Bell Hines; father of her children, William James Colwell; husband, William Cupples; granddaughter, Jennifer Michelle Colwell; and son, Kerry Colwell.

A gathering of Mrs. Cupples’ family and friends will begin at 1:00 p.m., with her funeral service at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 29, 2018, at Sulphur Springs Baptist Church, 2012 FM 1270, Zavalla.  Her interment will follow at Cochran Cemetery, Huntington, under the direction of Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee.
