Norma Gene Garrett

December 26, 1921 - August 29, 2020

Norma Gene Garrett, 98, of Beaumont, died Saturday, August 29, 2020. She was born on December 26, 1921, to Janie Antoinette Brown and Joseph Henry Brown, in Lockney, Texas. Norma learned to oil paint and crochet while being artistic and creative. She also enjoyed antiquing and was very talented at refurbishing furniture.

Survivors include her sons, Tommy Garrett and his wife, Freddie Ann, of Vidor and Bob Garrett and his wife, Lisa, of Huntsville; daughters, Nancy Smithey and her husband, John and Judy Hickman and her husband, Zeb, all of Beaumont; grandchildren, Gary Miller and his wife, Patty; Cheryl Mcfarlin and her husband, Richard; Heather René Patrick and her husband, Chris; Kristine Seifert and her husband, Nicholas; Sarah Smithey; Evan Smithey and his wife, Iris; and Logan Smithey and his wife, Jamie; fifteen great-grandchildren; thirteen great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Edward Garrett, Jr.; sisters, Muriel Lehmann and Marguerite McElroy; and grandson, Ryan Tallent.

A graveside service for Mrs. Garrett will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 2, 2020, at Magnolia Cemetery, 2291 Pine Street, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard’s 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.
