Norman Willard Reddell

October 20, 1938 - January 6, 2021

Norman Willard Reddell, 82, of Winnie, died Wednesday, January 6, 2021, at home surrounded by his family.  He was born on October 20, 1938 to Gwendolyn Hall Reddell and Willard Dallas Reddell.  He was raised in Silsbee and graduated from Silsbee High School Class of 1958.  He was a military veteran and served proudly in the Marine Corp.  Norman married the love of his life Carol Sue Shutter Reddell and they raised eight children together. He was proud of being a Dad and proud of his kids. They eventually settled in Evadale and became active in the community and their children’s sports and activities. He worked at the Evadale Paper Mill and retired after forty plus years of service.  They attended St. Marks Catholic Church in Silsbee.

Norman and Carol Reddell loved to travel the world. They visited many countries and states and always had great stories to tell and pics to show.  Mr. Reddell was regularly active in coaching and training his kids in sports and was an athlete himself. The Silsbee Little League Baseball Team played in the Regional Finals in 1951 which was one game away from the Little League World Championship in his youth. Norman was first baseman, and he hit the only homerun in that game. We have the ball! He was always so proud of that. Norman loved duck hunting and fishing as an avid outdoorsman. His family inherited that from him and his love of adventures, sports and traveling to new places.
