Onia Carter

Onia Arline Carter, 60, of Kountze, died Friday, May 5, 2017. She was born on March 13, 1957, in Lufkin, to Wanda Gene Guinn Shanks and Clarence Dwayne Shanks.

Onia is survived by her husband, Jerry Carter, of Kountze; children, Jason Carter, of Anahuac; Charlie Pruett, of Silsbee; Shannan Burkett and her husband, Jerry, of Kountze; Les Carter and his wife, Heather, of Liberty; Janese Carter, of Liberty; and Jerry Carter, of Leesville, Louisiana; thirteen grandchildren; siblings, LuLa May McCulley, of Polk, Ohio; Roy Shanks, of Huntington; Dwayne Shanks, of Jasper; and Zella Nichols, of Hudson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

A family committal for Mrs. Carter will be held at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.
