Otto Hatcher

February 7, 1934 - May 26, 2018

Otto “Pat” Hatcher, 84, of Lumberton, died Saturday, May 26, 2018. He was born on February 7, 1934, in High Island, to Inez Wheeler Hatcher and Theodore Clifton Hatcher.

Raised in Pine Ridge, he started working in the oil fields at 16 years of age, eventually traveling and living all over the world from South America, Southeast Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. He retired from Reading & Bates Drilling Company, Western Oceanic, and Noble International. After retirement, he became an independent drilling consultant in Southeast Texas.

Otto is survived by his wife of fifty-six years, Barbara Ann Wimberly Hatcher; children, Patricia Hatcher Brady of Vicksburg, Mississippi; Donna Hatcher Russell and her husband, Rusty, of Vidor; and Julie Hatcher Cowart and her husband, James, of Kountze; grandchildren, Jamie Cowart Crain and her husband, Anthony, of Kountze; Seth Timon Cowart and his wife, Patience, of Kountze; Shelby Cowart Luke and her husband, Kevin, of Beaumont; Camren Carter of Kountze; and Ashton Russell and Devyn Russell, both of Vidor; and sister, Betty Hatcher Manuel of Pine Ridge. He is preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Earl, Joe Hardy, and C.N. “Bubba” Hatcher.

Per Otto’s request, there will not be a visitation or a service. His graveside service will be scheduled at a later date.

I enjoyed the times when Otto and Barbara came up to the house, he was a really good man, friend, father and husband. I am so sorry for ya's loss, My prayers are with his family. R.I.P. Otto.

I only meant your dad wants but he was nice to me and he even joked with me a little bit. I'm very very sorry for your loss I know he will forever be missed and all I can say is that one day you will see him again because he's with God now.
