Patricia Bergan Fehrenbacher

Patricia Bergan Fehrenbacher, 90, of Beaumont, died Friday, October 23, 2020, at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas, Beaumont. She was born on April 18, 1930, to Edith Bergan O’Connor and Joseph O’Connor, in Manhattan, Illinois.

Survivors include her daughters, Pat Fehrenbacher of Beaumont; Cathy Fehrenbacher Bowanko of Washington, DC; Mary Jo Fehrenbacher and Anne Fehrenbacher, both of Beaumont; and Margaret Fehrenbacher Pinkston and her husband, Ryan, of West Chester, Pennsylvania; sons, Robert Fehrenbacher and his wife, Annette, of Vienna, West Virginia and John Fehrenbacher of Lumberton; grandchildren, Susan Fisher; Larissa Powell and her husband, Rodney; Matthew Fehrenbacher and his wife, Julia; Sarah Reitman and her husband, Mychal; Britney Hoogenboezem and her husband, Jeandre´; Gabrielle Flores; Rachel Bowanko and Ashley Fehrenbacher; and great-grandchildren, Benjamin Fehrenbacher, Isabelle Fleenor, Rylan Powell, Dylan Powell, Kolten Powell, Hunter Powell, Miles Roots, Mabel Fehrenbacher, and Nancy Reitman.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Edith and Joseph; husband, Robert Fehrenbacher; sisters, Mary Dailey, Bernice Williams, and Edith O’Connor; son in law, David Bowanko; daughter, Jean Catherine Fehrenbacher and grandson, Michael Fisher.

Mrs. Fehrenbacher was a loving mother not only to her own children but also those that she taught in elementary school. She instilled strong morals, ethics and values and made a lasting impression on all. She was a devout Catholic who never met a stranger and always had a kind word or helpful hand. She was a consummate hostess who always had room for one more at the table. She had a quick wit and wonderful sense of humor. Her biggest hobby was her family but she loved reading, sewing and knitting.

A gathering of Mrs. Fehrenbacher’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m., Monday, October 26, 2020, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, October 27, 2020, at St. Anthony Cathedral Basilica, 700 Jefferson, Beaumont. Her interment will follow at Haven of Rest Cemetery, Beaumont.
