Patricia Smith

Patricia Kay Smith, of Silsbee, died Sunday, August 26, 2018. She was born on July 23, 1967, in Kountze, to Carol Haire Powell and Bobby Powell. She lived fifty-one years, one month, and three days.

She lived in Silsbee for most of her life, even if she moved off, she always came back to her hometown. Patricia was an amazing woman, adored and loved by all who met her, and had a smile like no other. She had a big heart and nurtured everyone. She was an animal lover and loved to do crafts of any kind.

Patricia was a strong, patient woman, who had trials and tribulations and fought as hard as she could through them and praised God along the way. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Silsbee. A daughter, sister, wife, mother, stepmother, and grandmother, she loved her immediate family, church family, Silsbee High School Class of ’87 family, and her many friends. Patricia lived a long and fruitful life. She will be loved and missed by all and will NEVER be forgotten.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Smith; children, Constance Whitmire and her husband, Dakota and Robert Elton Smith, Jr., all of Silsbee; stepchildren, JoAnne Payne and her husband, Chris, of Belt Buckle, Tennessee; and Heather Doyle and her husband, Keith and Joshua Smith and his wife, Carol, all of Springfield, Tennessee; ten grandchildren; mother, Carol Powell; and sisters, Talisa Parson and her husband, Mark and Sally Stanley and her husband, Dugan, all of Silsbee; Mae Odom and her husband, David, of Kountze; and Linda Vashaw and her husband, Jonathan, of Nixa, Missouri. She is preceded in death by her father, Bobby Powell; and brother, Gary Powell.

A gathering of Patricia’s family and friends will be at 10:00 a.m., with her funeral service at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 31, 2018, at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, West FM 418, Silsbee. Her interment will follow at Franks Branch Cemetery, Fred,
