Patty Shafer

Patty Ruth Shafer, 90, was born June 23, 1929, in Dawson, Texas, to Maude and Luther Davis. She passed into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Saturday, June 29, 2019. Pat and her family have been residents of Winnie, Texas, since 1964.

Pat was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and homemaker since her marriage to Tommy W. Shafer, on December 10, 1948. They were married for sixty-three years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Winnie.

Her parents, husband, and seven siblings preceded her in death. Pat leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Kay Shafer, of Corpus Christi; Patsy Burnham and her husband, Bob, of Houston; Tommy B. Shafer and his wife, Laura, of Winnie; and Kristine Touchet and her husband, Reed, of Winnie; her grandchildren, Clinton Burnham and his wife, Traci, of Houston; Holly McDaniel and her husband, Scotty, of Winnie; Rachel Hatcher and her husband, Brett, of Hamshire; Allison Fraser, of Houston; Dustin Touchet, of Houston; Heather Shafer, of Winnie; and Colby Touchet, of Houston; her great-grandchildren, Gracie, Kate, and Ella McDaniel, Robbie Fraser, Duke Hatcher, and two more great-grandchildren to be born in December; sisters, Mary Hunt, of Sinton, Texas and Corrine Leach and her husband, Rex, of Clinton, Texas; and brother, Billy Joe Davis and his wife Ethel, of Woodville.

Special thanks for the care Pat received at The Arboretum over the last few years and especially the tender care she received during her last few days.

A gathering of Pat’s family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 3, 2019, at First Baptist Church of Winnie, with her interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery, Winnie.
