Phillis Miller

October 8, 1948 - October 12, 2018

Phillis Loretta Miller, 70, of Beaumont, died Friday, October 12, 2018, at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas-Beaumont. She was born on October 8, 1948, to Oleta Katherine “Jerry” Hammons and Forrest Porter in Beaumont. 

Survivors include her son, George “Buddy” Saxon and his wife, Delia, of Ceres, California; daughters, Angela Porter, of Arlington; and Summer Porter and her husband, Jon, of Cartersville, Georgia; grandchildren, Joshua Saxon, Naomi Saxon, Jonathan Saxon, and Rylee Porter; brother, Forrest W. Porter and his wife, Madeline, of Ragley, Louisiana; nephew, Matt Porter, of Corpus Christi; and companion, Hilton Miller, of Beaumont. Phillis will truly be missed by her entire family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; sons, Hank Miller and Hilton W. Miller; and baby sister, Sally. 

A gathering of Mrs. Miller’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 16, 2018, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. Her graveside service will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 17, 2018, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 4955 Pine Street, Beaumont, with her interment to follow.

The pictures from Phillis life were very sweet. I remember her from Beaumont High School. Her newborn daughter was thought to be the most beautiful baby ever seen.
