Ponarosa Tait, 57, of Beaumont, died Sunday, November 10, 2019. She was born on February 26, 1962, in Morton, Mississippi, to Mary Jo and W.A. Eakes.

Survivors include her children, Cassi Critser and her husband, David, of Beaumont and Toby Tait of Hamshire; grandchildren, Ricci Critser, Michael Furman, Morgan Tait, Mason Tait, Madison Burk, Brayson Raspberry, Brynlee Biscamp, Baylor Biscamp, Bentley Biscamp, and Khloe Tanner; mother, Mary Jo Gembler of Sulpher; siblings, Billy Eakes and his wife, Alana, of Kountze; William Eakes and his wife, Sondra, of Cleburne; Regina Eakes of Sulpher; and Bonita Eakes and Darlene Trahan, both of West Lake; and close friends, Brandy Olguin and Tristan Boyles, both of Beaumont. She is preceded in death by her father, John Gembler.

Ponarosa’s committal was held at Broussard’s Crematorium.

I loved Mrs. Tait. I took lunch to her on Fridays. She was so sweet and kind and gentle. I took her lunch last Friday and she came to the door with her usual sweet smile . I kissed her on the cheeck and she said "God bless you , Sweetheart like she did every time I saw her. I will be so sad to miss having her bring a special sweetness to my life every Friday.
