Quentin Stopher
Quentin Maison Reece Stopher, 15, of Beaumont, died Monday, November 5, 2018. He was born on March 7, 2003, to Amanda Kaye Nelson and Travis David Yossarian Stopher, in Galveston. Quentin was a sophomore at West Brook High School and was co-enrolled with Lamar Institute of Technology. He enjoyed art, the great outdoors, horse riding, and fishing. Being a descendent of our Forefather on the Declaration of Independence and also of a Knight of The Bath / King’s Seargent / Inner Temple Member in England, Thomas Nelson and Sir Lord Thomas Westcote Littleton, he admired his heritage and strived for learning and greatness in everything he did and it showed in his intelligence.
Survivors include his father, Travis Stopher; mother, Amanda Nelson and her husband, Orvil Nunez; sister, Alexis Pesina; brothers, Dante Stopher, Drake Stopher and his wife, Wendy, and Zachery Stopher; sister, Kinley Nelson; niece, Skylynn Stopher; maternal grandparents, Belinda Ard and her husband, George “Red”; maternal aunts, Angela Nelson and Catherine Nelson; maternal uncle, Frank Nelson, Jr.; paternal aunt, Gina Hicks; and paternal uncles, Marc Hicks and Dylan Stopher.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Michelle and Gerald Stopher and maternal grandfather, Frank Nelson, Sr.
A gathering of Quentin’s family and friends will begin at 9:00 a.m., Saturday, November 17, 2018, in the Cloister Room at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 680 Calder Avenue, Beaumont. His memorial service will follow at 10:00 a.m., in the Sanctuary. An ennichment of his cremated body will follow at St. Mark’s Garden Columbarium.
