Ralph Babineaux, Jr.

May 14, 1931 - May 9, 2021

McLean Ralph Babineaux, Jr., 89, of Beaumont, Texas, peacefully entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 9, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 14, 1931, in Port Arthur, Texas, to McLean Ralph Babineaux, Sr. and Florence Sterling Babineaux. He leaves behind his loving wife of almost 67 years, Doris Duke Babineaux, three children and their spouses: Jerry and Susan Allen of Beaumont, Texas; George and Sally Ross of Burlington, North Carolina; and McLean and Beverly Babineaux III of Cypress, Texas; his grandchildren, Russ and Amanda Allen, Hunter and Liz Allen, Johnson Ross, Tyler and Heather Ross, Alexandria Babineaux, Max Babineaux; and 3 great-grandchildren; Caroline, Hannah and Parker Ross.

After he graduated from Nederland High School in 1948, he chose to voluntarily serve in the Korean War instead of accepting a basketball scholarship. Following his service, he returned to receive an associate degree in electrical engineering from Lamar Tech.

He began his career at Brance Kracey where he worked for 45 years until he retired in August 2000.

His favorite times were spent with his wife, children, grandchildren, and buddies at our beach home, hunting lease in West Texas, and family gatherings in Wimberley. He loved to cook, garden, tell “stories” and laugh. He loved his family with all his heart and was the happiest when we were altogether. He also loved spending time worshipping and fellowshipping with his Calvary friends at church, Sunday School, and Tuesday Morning Mens’ Bible Study.

He was a gracious, blessed, loving Dad, PawPaw and friend and was deeply loved by all. He will be greatly missed, but we will be forever grateful for showing us all what it looks like for a man to truly LOVE the Lord, his family and others.

He is survived by his three of his seven siblings: Boyd Babineaux, Charlene Burnett, and Eve Wagner.

Daddy’s favorite Bible verse and one we feel he truly lived by………:“Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.” 1 John 4:8 (NIV)

A gathering of Ralph’s family and friends will begin at 12:00 p.m., with a Celebration of his Life to follow at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 13, 2021, at Calvary Baptist Church, 3650 Dowlen Road, Beaumont. His interment will follow at Knupple Cemetery, Silsbee, under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.

With gratitude, our family requests memorial contributions be directed to: Calvary Baptist Disaster Relief or Lottie Moon Missions Offering, 3350 Dowlen Road, Suite A, Beaumont, Texas 77706.

I always thought a lot of Mr Babineaux.....he fit the “cool dad” mold for sure. Very thoughtful man and a pleasure to be around. I know he will be deeply missed.
