February 22, 1951 - August 19, 2020

Raymond Herrin, Jr., 69, of Nederland, died Wednesday, August 19, 2020, at Christus Southeast Texas – St. Elizabeth, Beaumont. He was born February 22, 1951, in Port Arthur, to Nora Alice Brison Herrin and Raymond Carl Herrin, Sr.

Raymond retired as a safety inspector for Exxon Mobil. He was an avid golfer who enjoyed spending time on the course with his friends. He also enjoyed watching the Astros and the Rockets play and loved to grill. Raymond was known to make the best steak around. In his later years he enjoyed travelling. Most of all, he was profoundly proud of his children, grandchildren, and extremely committed to his extended family.

Survivors include his son, Daniel Herrin and his wife, Kelsey, of Nederland; daughter, Meredith Bell and her husband, Cliff, of Prosper, Texas; grandchildren, Carter and Brenley Bell; sister, Mary Sue Tompkins; brother, Bobby Herrin and his wife, Janie, all of Nederland; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Nora and Raymond, Sr.; and sister, Judy Sanders.

A gathering of Mr. Herrin’s family and friends will begin at 4:00 p.m., with his funeral service at 5:30 p.m., Sunday, August 23, 2020, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. His committal will be held at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.
