Raymond W. Hale

Raymond W. Hale, 94, of Lumberton, died Tuesday, December 5, 2017, at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas, Beaumont. He was born on July 25, 1923, to Hallie Estelle Duke Hale and Johnson Luther Hale, in Trinity, and was a United States Army Air Corps veteran and certified P-51 mechanic. Raymond retired from Mobil after thirty-three years of service. He was known for his old-time work ethics and had the ability to work on anything and everything.

Survivors include his daughters, Lana Cowles and her husband, Larry, of Blanco and Jennifer Freeman and her husband, Randy, of Lumberton; son, Wayne Hale and his wife, Martha, of Beaumont; grandchildren, Landon Cowles and his wife, Melissa; Leanne Cowles and Jeremy Marty; Tanner Freeman, Travis Freeman and his wife, Sarah; Trace Freeman and his wife, Crystal; and Hellen Hale; great-grandchildren, Christopher Martin, Nora Cowles, Olin Cowles, Brighton Freeman, and Piper Freeman.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dixie Hale; brothers, Johnnie Hale and Thelbert Hale; sisters, Frances Rush and Barbara Peek; and twin sister, Juanita Fehl.

A gathering of Mr. Hale’s family and friends will begin at 1:00 p.m. with his funeral service to follow at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, December 10, 2017, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Interment will follow at Magnolia Cemetery, Beaumont.
