Richard Ferguson Coward

Richard Ferguson Coward, 92, of Beaumont, formerly of Nederland, died Wednesday, March 8, 2017. He was born on August 10, 1924, to Lettie Fay Dean Coward and Benjamin Parker Coward. Richard was a United States Army veteran, serving in the 8th Air Force, the 44th Bomber Group, and 68th Bomber Squadron. He retired as a lab tester from Pure Oil/Union Oil. Richard was a handyman, gardener, and beekeeper.

He is survived by his son, Richard A. Coward and his wife, Judy, of Lumberton; daughter, Dorothy Guerra and her husband, John, of Beaumont; grandchildren, Lori Ann Harrod and her husband, Rory; Wendy Anderson and her husband, Mark; Cheree Dittmar and her husband, Daniel; and Danny Guerra; great-grandchildren, Brant Boyle, Brendan Boyle, Bryson Boyle, Brock Boyle, Braxton Harrod, Britton Harrod, Rebekah Harrod, Piper Anderson, Sofie Anderson, Madison Dittmar, and Kenion Dittmar; and sister-in-law, Elton Coward.

The family would like to thank Intrepid Home Health, specifically Sylvia Andel and Judy Trejo, for the excellent care they gave our dad.

A gathering of Mr. Coward’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday, March 10, 2017, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His graveside service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 11, 2017, at Antioch Cemetery, FM 1746, Woodville.
