Richard Pierce Wyche
Richard Pierce Wyche passed Tuesday, May 11, 2021, after a brave battle with lung cancer. He was born on October 14, 1959, in Beaumont, to Gloria Inez Caton Wyche and Robert Pierce Wyche, Jr.
Richard lived in Beaumont until his graduation from Lamar University in 1982. Following graduation, he began a career that allowed him the freedom to pursue his real love in life: the game of golf. He grew up learning to play golf at Tyrrell Park on the now Henry Homberg Municipal Golf Course. Richard would fondly recall the times spent at Tyrell Park and the lasting friendships he made there. Rest assured he is waiting at the 19th hole for everyone to join him.
Richard’s quick wit, love of life and endearing smile will be missed, but his memory will be forever cherished by those who loved him.
He is survived by his sister, Anne Wyche Sexton and her husband, Michael S. Purcell, of Missouri City; nephew, William Alan Sexton and his wife, Karolyn Blanchette Sexton; niece, Laura Anne LaGrasta, all of Houston; cousins, Kim Caton Neurohr and William Dean Caton, both of Dallas; and Nancy Ruth Caviness of Duck, North Carolina.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 5247, Beaumont, Texas 77726.
A graveside service for Mr. Wyche will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 15, 2021, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 4955 Pine Street, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont.

I'm so sorry to read this. I remember Richard as a teenager at Tyrrell Park Golf Course. I was Henry Homberg's first assistant at the course at the time.. I remember him as a very nice kid, and never gave us any trouble. I wish to express my heartfelt sympathy to the family

I attended Longfellow Elem with Richard. I thought he was so handsome and so smart. I haven’t seen him in years but have wondered about him as well as other classmates. I’m sorry to read of his passing. Condolences to his family.

Richard is a long time classmate, pledge brother, Sig Ep brother...have way too many memories of our time together from our school days, Mr. Gattis, and him on the golf course. Every time I try to play, think about him and others wishing I would had learned the game way back in our school days. Sad to learn of his passing, but know he’s playing on that big course in heaven.
