Rickey Broom, Sr.

Rickey Lee Broom, Sr., 61, of Silsbee, died Sunday, September 10, 2017. He was born on August 16, 1956, in Woodville, to Lucy Riley Broom and Oscar Broom. Rickey worked at Walmart as a Tire Technician.

Survivors include his wife, Bertha Broom of Silsbee; sons, Joseph Baird and his fiancé, Jennifer Nazar, of Nederland; Ricky Broom, Jr., and his wife, JoAnna, of Corpus Christi; daughter, Sonya Baird of Trinity; sisters, Jenny Wilkerson of Zavalla; Rose Stewart of Woodville; and Margie Riley and her husband, Jerry, of Kountze; brothers, Billy Jack Broom and his wife, Karen, of Longview; Tommy Broom; Oscar Broom; and Phillip Broom and his wife, Kathy; all of Woodville; Gary Bob Broom and his wife, Ann, of DeQuincy, Louisiana; and James Broom and his wife, Pauline, of Jasper; and numerous nieces and nephews. Rickey is preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Melvin Broom and Dan Broom.

A gathering of Rickey’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, September 14, 2017, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee. His funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 15, 2017, at Shady Grove Church, CR 2225, Woodville, with his interment to follow at Shady Grove Cemetery, Woodville.
