Rodney Louis Rist

November 5, 1961 - December 20, 2020

Rodney Rist, 59, of Silsbee, died Sunday, December 20, 2020.  He was born on November 5, 1961, in Springhill, Louisiana, to Elouise Horton Rist and Charles Ray Rist, Sr.

Rodney was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman and he enjoyed cooking.  He was an operator for ExxonMobil for over thirty years and the owner and operator of J/Rods Processing in Silsbee. 

Survivors include his wife of twenty-one years, LaNelle Rist; daughters, Jennifer Rist Smith and her husband, Justin; Janey Rist Heilmann and her husband, Cody; Mandy Gore Haga; and Leeann Chance; son, Dusty Gore and his wife, Kim; grandchildren, Kegan, Bailey, Emma, Triston, Weston, Annabelle, and Octavia; mother, Elouise Gibson and her husband, B.J.; brother, Chuck Rist and his wife, Tina; sisters, Candy Lewis; Sandy Gibson and her husband, Kermit; and Angie Huebal and her husband, Pat; and several nieces, nephews, and a host of relatives and friends.  He is preceded in death by his father, Charles Ray Rist, Sr.

A gathering of Mr. Rist’s family and friends will be 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 23, 2020, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee. His graveside service will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 24, 2020, at Old Castor Cemetery, 1184 Old Castor Road, Castor, Louisiana, 71016.
