Rose Hoots
Rose Hoots, 87, of Beaumont, passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2019, at Oak Grove Nursing Home, Groves. She was born on October 4, 1931, in her home, to Elsie Mae Seymore and Anthony Coy Downs. Rose was a retired manager from the Pig Stand restaurant after forty years of service. She was the matriarch of the family. She loved the Dallas Cowboys, but she was not a fan of Tiger Woods. Rose also loved baking and cooking and sharing her recipes with her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her sons, Dale Trahan and his wife, Nelda, of Port Neches; and Stan Trahan and his wife, Tammy, of Lake Charles, Louisiana; daughters, Margaret Olona Koncaba and her husband, Cliff; Delia Hancock; Sheila Walker and her husband, Lowell; Betty Keffer and her husband, Mark, all of Nederland; Darlene Porter and her husband, Jim, of Tennessee; and Kelly Hoots, of Nederland; twenty grandchildren; twenty-six great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; sister, Delores Coudrain, of Beaumont; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rodney Hoots; sons, Harry Trahan and Mark Trahan; stepsons, Kendall Hoots and Jeff Hoots; and brothers, Tony Downs, James Downs and Bill Downs.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Hospice Plus and Oak Groves Nursing Home for the excellent care of their mother.
A gathering of Mrs. Hoots’ family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, May 30, 2019, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m, Friday, May 31, 2019, at Broussard’s, Nederland, with her interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.

Aunt Rose, I will miss our visits so very much. Some may think I was doing something good by visiting you, but the good was as much for me, if not more, than for you. I will so miss the ability call to ask some question about how to cook some something, to get a glimpse into the past through your memory, to learn of things happening in my cousins' lives, or to share with you a story of some current event in my life. I wish for your children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren the peace that surpasses understanding that God can bestow.
