Roy Joseph Castille

July 22, 1928 - October 14, 2020

Roy Joseph Castille, 92, of Port Arthur, joined the Lord on Wednesday, October 14, 2020. He was born July 22, 1928, in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana, to Rosa Quibedeaux Castille and Robert Castille.

Roy was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather. Though he was born and raised in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana, he was a long-time resident of Port Arthur. Roy came to Port Arthur in 1945 and was employed at Texaco as an Operator for forty years. He was a faithful member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, Port Arthur and was also a member of the Eagles and Knights of Columbus.

Roy was devoted to his family and he kept his friends and family smiling with his great sense of humor and outgoing personality. He was always ready to entertain the children with stories and songs. Roy left us with many great memories of crawfish boils, crabbing excursions, and fun times. He loved vegetable gardening and was always ready to share his harvest.

He is celebrated and mourned for by his wife of seventy-three years, Janella Castille; children, Peggy Mullins and Sandy; Linton Castille and Alice; and Crystal Noyola and Greg; grandchildren, Dylan Noyola; Sandy Shugart; Carrie Ford; Donald Castille; and David Mullins; and numerous great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He was a great PawPaw.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Rosa and Robert Castille; four sisters; seven brothers; and grandchildren, Tyler Noyola and Jerry Mullins.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff of Best Hospice for the care and compassion shown to Roy in his final days. A special mention to Selma Provenza and Maria Cobos.

A gathering of Mr. Castille’s family and friends will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., with a Rosary recited at 11:45 a.m., Monday, October 19, 2020, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m., immediately following the Rosary, at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 3706 Woodrow Drive, Port Arthur, with his entombment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Groves.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 700 North Street, Suite M, Beaumont, Texas 77701.
