October 27, 1958 – July 27, 2017

Roy Thomas “Tommy” Rawlinson, 58, of Kountze, Texas, died at The Gardens – Altus Hospice Inpatient Pavilion in Beaumont, Texas. Tommy was born in Pasadena, Texas, to Jacqueline Hughes and Howard Eugene Rawlinson, Sr.

Tommy retired as a Master Carpenter and a ‘jack of most trades’. His hobbies included carpenter work, furniture making and generally helping others with problems large and small.

Survivors include his sisters, Ella Thomas and Becky Wilder and her husband, Allen, both of Kountze, Texas; brother, Gene Rawlinson of Fouke, Arkansas; sister-in-law, Judy Pareya of Houston, Texas; girlfriend, Lauren Smith of Kountze, Texas; seventeen nieces and nephews; numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews.

Tommy was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Joe Pareya and Dwight Rawlinson; and nephew Corey Wilder.

Everyone loved our Tommy. Born the youngest of six siblings, he had a great wit and we (his siblings) spoiled him in a good way. Tommy was an incredibly talented man! If you needed something built or repaired Tommy was always “the one” to make it happen. He was quick to smile and always ‘be there’ to help his family and friends.

With a Dr. Pepper in one hand a tool in the other, he never left home without his tape measure.

Legendary stories of his younger days would fill page upon page in a book.

He will always be remembered for his kind heart and helping hand.

In memory of our Tommy… please pay forward a favor for someone in need.

A private family committal was held a Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont under the direction Broussard’s, 530 West Monroe, Kountze.

My sincere condolences to the Rawlinson family. There are no words to say to ease your pain during this difficult time. May the fond memories of the times you shared bring you comfort and peace. Please know that God holds Tommy in his memory until the day when all those in the memorial tombs will come out to a resurrection of life here on earth as brought out in John 5:28 & 29. Until that time my thoughts are with you and your family.

Gene and Nancy Barton
