Ruth Vivrett

November 5, 1923 - December 23, 2019

Ruth Bridges Vivrett, 96, of Beaumont, died Monday, December 23, 2019, at Buckner Calder Woods, Beaumont. She was born on November 5, 1923, in Port Arthur, to Gertrude Nauck Bridges and Thomas H. Bridges.

Ruth was a longtime resident of southeast Texas, having lived in Nederland, Vidor and Beaumont in recent years. For many years she was a state-certified defensive driving instructor but was best known as an international tour guide. In company with her husband Rual, mother Gertrude, aunt Nonie and best friend Barbara Toombs, she regularly travelled to far-flung destinations around the world.

Ruth and her globe-trotting coterie were committed Christ followers, and we rejoice that she can now add one final pin to her world map – a place from which she’ll never return!

She is survived by her cousins, Eleanor Nauck Wetzel; George Nauck; Albert Nauck; and Kurt Nauck, III, of Spring.

Ruth is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Rual Vivrett, Jr.

A gathering of Mrs. Vivrett’s family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 28, 2019, with her funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m., at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Her interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.

All are welcome to come celebrate an amazing woman!

Ruth and I met at Cathedral In The Pines and became friends. A joy to visit at church and then at Calder Woods. Joined with Rual again for their last journey forever. Will miss her.
