Shari Harris

January 22, 1955 - November 17, 2018

Shari was born to Ruth Marie and Jules Melton Bloomfield in Daisetta, Texas. She was the “baby” of the family, which included an older half-sister and her big brother, Wayne Bloomfield. The family moved to Nederland in 1955 and settled there.

Shari’s mother always said that she was headstrong and fearless, which led her to some wonderful adventures in her life – and a few mistakes… you know who you are! Ha. Ultimately, Shari lived a full life and enjoyed her time on earth.

Waiting to greet her in Heaven is her mother, Ruth (Smith), her father, Melt Bloomfield, her step-dad, Chuck Smith, and her in-laws, Betty and Lynn Harris.

She is survived by her loving husband, Terry Harris, her brother, “dear” Wayne Bloomfield, her daughter and best friend, Mondi Hebert, and husband, Clay, of Nederland, her stepson, Lynn Anthony Harris, grandchildren, Daxton and Marley Hebert and Remi Harris, her sister-in-law, Carolyn Harris, her “favorite” uncle and aunt Sidney and Carolyn Kelly, of Richardson, her niece, Cody Marie Cassham, of Albany, New York, and her “forever friend”, Toni Willey Forey.

A celebration of Mrs. Harris’ life will begin at 5:00 p.m., Sunday, December 2, 2018, at the Nederland KC Hall, 315 Hardy Avenue, with Brother Bucky Faggard of High Island First Baptist Church speaking. At 5:20 p.m., there will be a tribute to the Huntsman Family, at 6:00 p.m., there will be live music performed by Ben and Candy, at 6:30 p.m., there will be a tribute to the Surfing family, at 6:45 p.m., there will be a tribute to the Vaughn family, and at 7:30 p.m., there will be a tribute to his NHS family and friends. Following the tributes, will be a Blessing of her family and an open mic for anyone who wishes to celebrate her life and share their favorite memories. A private family committal will be held at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Her ashes will be placed, per her wishes, by her family at a later time.

In lieu of flowers plant a tree or a rosebush where it is needed – or donations can be made to the American Cancer Society, 4 Bayoubrandt Drive, Suite B, Beaumont, Texas 77706.

I remember the first time her brother Wayne introduced us. I asked him why he never told me that he had a beautiful sister. He told me that he wanted to remain friends with me. I took that as a sign. Hands off. Wayne and I are still great friends. Love to Terry and the Family. ????

Sharí was the kindest, gentlest human being I’ve ever met but also the strongest. She taught me many things and came to my rescue many times. You never had to wonder where she stood on certain things. If she had an opinion, you knew it. 100% straight shooter. I will miss her dearly and I truly believe that God broke the mold after he made her❤️
