Shelby Dixson

Shelby Dixson, 87, of Vidor, died Saturday, February 24, 2018, at Oakwood Manor Nursing Home, Vidor. He was born on March 26, 1930, in Zwolle, Louisiana, to Martha Sally Mansel and John Henry Dixson.

Survivors include his sons, Shelby Glenn Dixson and Roger Dixson and his wife, Terry, all of Vidor; grandchildren, Aaron Dixson and his wife, Shannon, of Evadale; Jennifer Roark and her husband, Tex; Crystal Waguespack and her husband, Jason; and Shelton Dixson, all of Vidor; great-grandchildren, Erin Dixson, Nichole Dixson, Leena Arnold, Jarrod Kelley, Jayden Roark, and Jaycie Roark; great-great-grandchild, Waylon Kelley; and brother, J.D. Dixson.

Shelby is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Frances Theresa Simoneaux; and siblings, Cleve Dixson, Wesley Dixson, Lee Dixson, Barbara Quebodeaux, Ellen Meador, and Aubrey Dixson.

A gathering of Mr. Dixson’s family and friends will begin at 12:00 p.m., with his funeral service to at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 27, 2018, at Eastgate United Pentecostal Church, 290 South Street, Vidor. His interment will follow at Dixson Cemetery, Vidor, under the direction of Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee.
