Suchart Gilfillian

October 11, 1965 - August 1, 2021

Suchart Gilfillian, 55, of Beaumont, passed away Sunday, August 1, 2021, at Christus Southeast Texas, St. Elizabeth in Beaumont. He was born on October 11, 1965, to Bangon Kimsua Gilfillian and Jessie James Gilfillian. He was born in Thailand and loved to visit the beaches when he was a child. Growing up, he could speak 3 different languages, and he lived in many different countries before making Beaumont his forever home. He graduated from Beaumont Charlton Pollard, class of 1983. During this time, you could find Suchart at the local ‘Crank It Up’ Contests where he always won first place, blaring a bass-thumping stereo system that he proudly installed himself. This later led to his career, where he spent a majority of his working life at Beaumont Sound. He would install the best stereo surround systems, car alarms, and hand free mobile phone sets, etc. He then worked at Ion GPS selling and installing GPS systems in vehicles. This led him to his current employer, PassTime, where he traveled the nation training technicians on how to properly install GPS systems. He was well known and respected in the industry and was a master at working with his hands on any project that needed to be accomplished.

Suchart was a devoted Son, Brother, Father, Grampy, and incredible friend. He was, and forever will be the Rock of his family. He would do anything for his family and friends. He instilled a great work ethic for his children and was a great role model for many in SETX. Suchart loved life, which was felt in his presence. He had a way of making a difficult situation seem manageable. He inspired us. There was nothing he couldn’t fix, nothing he couldn’t cook, no hardship he couldn’t offset. He always said, “If you’re going to do it, do it right…or don’t do it at all!”. He was loved and cherished by all who were fortunate to know him. Suchart was an incredible cook and loved traveling to the best spots in the world to try famous dishes. In his spare time, you could find him posting photos of all of his delicious food finds for the day. He enjoyed fishing, crabbing, and hunting with all of his family and friends. Most of all, Suchart enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandchildren.

He is survived by his mother, Bangon Kimsua Gilfillian; children, Alisha Wolfe and husband Chris Wolfe, Cody Gillfillian and wife, Savannah Gilfillian, Casey Gilfillian, Justin Gilfillian, Colby Gilfillian, Luke Gilfillian, Chasity Rash; and grandchildren, Chloe and Ellie Wolfe, Andrea, Brooke, and Bailey Gilfillian. He is also survived by many countless friends and family members notably Lora Gilfillian, Gail Rash, Jenny Vu, and Albert Daniels. He is preceded in death by his father, Jessie James Gilfillian and his brother, Tysan Do Gilfillian.

A gathering of Suchart’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, August 5, 2021, and from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, August 6, 2021, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. As our hearts are heavy with the news of the passing of our friend, the hope we have is that we will see him again and he will be healed, Our friend is still with us in our memories and we will hold on to them. As we know he will be missed by so many people, Our prayers are with his family, who meant the world to him., he always talked about his kids first and then the rest of the family until those grandkids started coming and when I would see him at work it was always about his grandkids, he loved them so much, To the family he loved each one of you so much, I know he is still here in your heart, God be with each one of you and all the others who know this man, The Parkers

To the entire Gilfillean family: Our hearts were broken when we heard of Sucharts passing. We were blessed with the opportunity of knowing the Gilfillian family and sharing some unforgettable memories with Lori, Suchart and Casey. Suchart was a loving and giving father who spent quality time with his large and extended family. For this they will be forever blessed. With all our love and heartfelt sympathy- Ewert and Marie

Alisha and family, I am so so sorry for your loss of such a great man. Growing up some of my best memories are from Suchart bringing us to Houston & AstroWorld for the weekend. He was always so loving and protective of his family. There’s nothing he wouldn’t do for his children. On the outside he seemed like a tough guy but after being around him for a bit it didn’t take long to figure out he was just a big soft teddy bear with a kind and caring heart. Keeping Suchart’s family & closest friends in my prayers.

Wana and Family, I am so sorry for your loss. I have fond memories or Tao! I remember the day Wana, Jessie and I enrolled him in middle school just like it happened yesterday. He was afraid, did not speak a lot of English and was very shy. But he was successful in school that year and made a lot of new friends. You will be missed!
