Terri Gwen Hecht

Terri Gwen Hecht, 62, of Lumberton, passed away on Thursday, April 15, 2021, in Beaumont. She was born on December 11, 1958, in Orange, to Ruth Roy Wolfe and Willie Wolfe, Jr.

Terri retired from Baptist Hospital’s Informational Technology Department and worked for Gulf States Utilities Informational Technology Department. She previously dispatched for Lamar Police Department, Beaumont Police Department, and Orange Sheriff Office. While dispatching she earned her degree in Computer Science from Lamar University.

Terri loved living life to the fullest and had a giving heart. She loved to shop, just ask anyone who knew her. She was always ready for a road trip, vacation, or dinner with the girls in the family. Her favorite vacation was to the Grand Cayman Islands with her sister, sister-in-law, nieces, and dear friend, Kim Duhon.

Terri deeply loved her family, grandchildren, and extend family. She cherished her time with her grandchildren, spending one on one time with them doing crafts and whatever they wanted to do.

Terri was strong in her faith and loved worshipping Jesus. Terri as a member of First Assembly of God Church in Silsbee.

She is survived by her husband of thirty-one years, the love of her life, Jerry Hecht, Sr.; son, by marriage, Jerry Hecht, Jr. and wife, Toni Lynn and son, Chase Hecht and wife, Crystal, all of Lumberton; sister, Jean Dugas of Bridge City; brother, Steven Wolfe and wife, Rebecca, of Little Cypress; grandchildren, Caden Hecht, Bella Rose Hecht, Marie Andrews, Ariel Andrews, Hailey Lynn Harrison, Nicole Harrison, Gracealyn Janae Harrison, and Willow; along with many nieces, great-nieces, great-great-nieces, nephews, great-nephews, and great-great-nephews; and many dear friends.

Terri was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth and Willie Wolfe, Jr.; brother, James Curtis Wolfe; grandparents, Claudia and Willie Wolfe, Sr. and Orelia and Lawrence Roy.

A gathering of Mrs. Hecht’s family and friends will begin at 12:00 p.m., with her funeral service at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 23, 2021, at First Assembly of God, 950 Highway 96 South, Silsbee, under the direction of Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee. Her interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.

Pallbearers will be her nephews, Stephen Hightower, Aaron Dugas, Colby Nelms, Jerrod Dugas, and Zane and Kane Peveto. Honorary pallbearers will be her nephews, Scotty Hallman and Adam Denison.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Multiple Sclerosis, 706 Haddonfield Road, Cherry Hill, NJ 08002.
