Tevis Lincoln

August 26, 1948 - May 12, 2018

Tevis Anthony Lincoln “Honey” beloved husband, father, brother, son-in-law, godfather, uncle, and friend, transitioned from labor to reward on Saturday, May 12, 2018, at Christus Hospital-St. Elizabeth, Beaumont.

Tevis was born on August 26, 1948, to the late Edward and Anna Martin Tevis Lincoln in Opelousas, Louisiana, before moving to Orange, Texas. Tevis who was affectionally known by family and friends as “Link” was a graduate of M.B. North High School Class of 1967. He served in the United States Army before meeting the love of his life in 1977. Link married Barbara Rhines on November 23, 1977 and a family united; Nicole and Lana.

Link dedicated thirty-five years to Union Pacific Railroad as a conductor. Spending time with his family gave him great pride and joy. It was never a dull moment from camping trips on the beach and late-night trips to San Antonio. He loved riding his motorcycle, traveling, fishing, and playing ping pong. Link made a host of friends during countless activities such as being a member of the Gold Wing Bike Club, Brother Hood Club, and the (DAV) American Legion.

Link is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Anna Martin Lincoln; brother, Thurman; and his mother-in-law, Carolyn Rhines.

He leaves to cherish his legacy and memory his wife of forty-one years, Barbara Lincoln; daughters, Nicole (David) Johnson and Lana (Reginald) Wilridge; father-in-law, Robert Rhines; sisters, Edwina (Billy) Lewis, Hilda Roberts, and Phyllis Lincoln; in-laws, Shirley and Berry Smith and their kids, Phyllis, Loretta, and Charles; grandkids, Jarrett (Tré), Keith, Bry’an, Bryanunique (Nene), Bryan, Jr., Reginald, Jr., and Layla; nine great-grandkids; two god-daughters; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A gathering of Mr. Lincoln’s family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., Friday, May 18, 2018, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. His funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 19, 2018, at Cathedral of Faith Baptist Church, 3755 Fannett Road, Beaumont. A graveside service will be at 12:45 p.m., Monday, May 21, 2018, at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston.
