Thomas “Tommy” Henry Dean

Thomas Henry Dean passed away Sunday, Janaury 29, 2017, at Harbor Hospice, Beaumont, Texas. He was 89.

Tommy was born January 15, 1928 to Bertie and Bergen Dean in Emilee, Texas. He is survived by his wife for 69 years, Dorothy, of Silsbee; son, Timothy Ray Dean of Houston and daughter, Terri Dean Y’Barbo, of Silsbee; three grandchildren, Timothy Justin Dean, Austin Wayne Dean, and Lauren Michelle Dean; six great-grandchildren, Kennedy Paige Taylor, Blake Garret Dean, Tatum Mackenzie Dean, Tristin James Dean, Zoey Grace Breaux, and Zara Rose Breaux; two nephews, Robert Grant Dean and Gary Scott Dean; and several cousins.

Tommy is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Gerald Ogden Dean; and grandson, Jamison Drew.

He retired from Texaco Chemical, Port Neches, in 1983 after 36 years. After retirement, Tommy and Dorothy enjoyed traveling throughout the United States in their RV and spent several summers in Gunnison, Colorado.

He was a member of First Baptist Church in Silsbee.

A gathering of Mr. Dean’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 31, 2017, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee. His funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 1, 2017, at First Baptist Church, 350 North 5th Street, Silsbee, with interment to follow at R.S. Farmer Memorial   Cemetery, Silsbee.
