Vernon Ray Sangwin

January 6, 1942 - April 13, 2017

Vernon Ray Sangwin, 75, of Silsbee, died Thursday, April 13, 2017.  He was born on January 6, 1942, in Silsbee, to Ellen Curtis Sangwin and George Washington Sangwin. 

 

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Sangwin; children, Sheila Moore and her husband, Robert, of Concord, North Carolina; Barbara Walls and her husband, Don, of Russellville, Arkansas; Frank Leroy Lee, Jr. and his wife, Melissa, of Silsbee; and Talyon Ray Sangwin and his wife, Shelly, of Kountze; grandchildren, Chassity Hofelzer and her husband, Michael, of North Carolina; Thomas Williams and his wife, Chelsy, of Montgomery; Anthony Walls and his wife, Elizabeth, of Kansas; Tara Williamson of Russellville, Arkansas; James Reid, Elizabeth Scott, Ashley Lee, and Kellie Lee, all of Silsbee; and Devon and Tristen Sangwin, both of Kountze; great-grandchildren, Ian Hofelzer, Maddie Hofelzer, and Kameryn Hofelzer, all of North Carolina; Karlie Williams of Montgomery; Aslyn and Castiel Walls, both of Kansas; and Brayden, Brooklynn, and Baeleigh Williamson, all of Russellville, Arkansas; brothers, George Edward Sangwin of Florida and Robert Doyle Sangwin of Dallas; and sisters, Gloria Jean Lakey and Delories Wimberly, both of Silsbee; Dorothy Wright and Dottie McClelland, both of Kountze; and Karen Ard and Brenda Sangwin, both of Silsbee.  He is preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Weldon Gene Sangwin and Jerry Sangwin.

 

A gathering of Mr. Sangwin’s family and friends will be 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee.  His funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at First Assembly of God, 950 Highway 96 South, Silsbee, with his interment to follow at Frank’s Branch Cemetery, Fred.
