Victoria Tristan

December 23, 1936 - February 16, 2021

Victoria Tristan, 84, of Beaumont, died Tuesday, February 16, 2021. She was born on December 23, 1936, in Mexico, to Marcelina Sifuentes and Pablo Sanchez.

Victoria was born and raised in Morenos, San Luis Potosi, Mexico. Her birth was registered in San Nicolas Tolentino. Not having any brothers, she and her sisters had to help their parents with the daily chores on their little farm ranch.

Victoria married the love of her life at a young age and they were together for almost 47 years. They loved to dance together at various family parties held over the years. On December 6, 1996, Victoria became a United States citizen at the same time with her husband and daughter, Avelina. She was a longtime parishioner of Cristo Rey Catholic Church.

Victoria loved it when her grandkids came over and spent days & nights with her. She loved to cook for her family with her delicious menudo, mole, tamales for special occasions and our all-time favorite bean/porkchop mix tacos made with her fresh homemade tortillas. She tailored them to our liking, some with cheese and some without for that one child who didn’t like cheese. Even some with jalapenos, which you had to be careful not to grab if you couldn’t handle the heat.

Victoria kept very active around her home. She enjoyed working outdoors on her flower gardens and doing special projects on her home. Victoria was a DIYer, painting rooms inside and outside of her house, even the garage! All she wanted, she said, was to make her house pretty with vibrant colors.

She will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends, who some felt like she was their second mom.

Survivors include her children, Socorro Tristan; Avelina Manuel and her husband, Martin; Abel Tristan; Jessica Crosby and her husband, Hector; Carolina Bryan and her husband, Joe; Catalina Rodriguez and her husband, Carlos; Ariel Tristan and his wife, Lisa; Guadalupe Tristan and his wife, Laurie; Fidel Tristan and his wife, Aida; Angelina Diamantis and her husband, Arden; Bernardino Tristan and his wife, Katherine; and Belen Tristan and his wife, Karla; sisters, Josefa Sanchez-Sifuentes, Ignacia Lara, Felix Lara, Amalia Sanchez-Sifuentes, and Abelina Lara; grandchildren, Aleesha Tristan; Christopher Manuel; Sara Stark; Travis Tristan; Celeste Berwick; Eric Crosby; Katharina Crosby; Alicia Sanders; Antonio Rodriguez; Carden Tristan; Cameron Tristan; Kristen Brown; Bianca Tristan; Erin Tristan; Phillip Tristan; Selena Tristan; Justin Tamayo; Jacob Tristan; Jason Tristan; Hannah Tristan; Harper Tristan; Arlaina and Abrianna Diamantis; Sabrina Tristan; Ian Tristan; Aaron Tristan; fourteen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Such a sweet person. We here at Helena always thought it was a treat to get some of her tamales! By reading the obituary I see where her daughter Avelina gets her sweetness from.! Prayers of peace and comfort to each of the family and friends.

Our Most Sincere Condolence to your entire family. Mrs. Tristan was the same Sweet Lady we met on day one.. She and Mr. Tristan were Our Good Samaritans when we had an accident here in Beaumont. They offered us their home, Mr Tristan helped my dad fix our car, as if they'd known us forever. Thanks to their hospitality we made Beaumont our Home. Kind actions like that are never forgotten. They will forever hold a special place in our hearts.

Being #9 of 12 I can tell you that there was plenty of love to go around. I’ll miss you mom. You only wanted the best for me and I am glad that you were there to see me be happy. Aida and the kids love you dearly. As you and daddy start to make a home in heaven I know that you are happy. Love you always.
