Virginia Youngblood

Virginia Buchanan Youngblood, 83, of Lumberton, died Monday, January 22, 2018. She was born on March 2, 1934, in Putnam, Texas to Eva Gunn Buchanan and George Andrew Buchanan. She graduated from Lutcher Stark High School in 1950 where she was a twirler and a proud member of the Bengal Guards. She was united in marriage to Ralph Youngblood on September 14th, 1956. They resided in Nederland and were married for 52 years. He preceded her in death, August 11th, 2008.

She received her Associates degree from Port Arthur college. She retired from Unocal as a Benefit Supervisor with over twenty-five years of service.

She is survived by her children (and spouses): Son, Charlie Webb of Austin; daughters, Gina Perry and her husband, Jim, of Spring and Karen Pascale and her husband, Patrick, of League City; step-son, Gary Youngblood and wife, Kathy, of California; grandchildren, Josh McQueen and his wife, Brandy; Jamie Hill and her husband, Brett; Layarne Sudborough and her husband, Dana; Brodine Shurbet and her husband, Brian; Gabby Pascale; Jonathon Pascale; Paige Pascale; Ryan Webb and his wife, Kameron; Megan Batson and her husband, Jordan; Kim Scher and her husband, John; and Jeff Youngblood; great-grandchildren, Peyton Scalero, Kiley McQueen, Aubrey Hill, Harper Hill, Andre Sudborough, Ethan Webb, Braden Scher, and Cade Scher; sister, Donna Sterling of Kingwood; and brother, Robert Buchanan and his wife, Jackie, of Kingwood.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, and sister, Serena Stakes.

A gathering of Mrs. Youngblood’s family and friends will begin at 12:00 p.m., with her funeral following at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 25, 2018, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Her interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.
