Walter James Solieau, Jr.

Walter “Dub” James Soileau, Jr., 89, of Nederland, died Wednesday, June 21, 2017. He was born on April 4, 1928, in Ville Platte, Louisiana, to Ada LeFleur Soileau and Walter James Soileau, Sr.

Dub served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He retired as an operator from Unocal and was a member of the Nederland Masonic Lodge #1368 for sixty-three years.

Survivors include his daughters, Lynn Mulhollan and her husband, F.D., and Susan Lemieux and her husband, Ricky; grandchildren, Jason Crawford and his wife, Katrina; Kimberly Crawford Emigh; Jennifer Crawford; John Soileau, Jr.; and Joshua Aldredge and his wife, Jena; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Reginald Soileau and his wife, Linda; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Lynn Soileau; son, John Soileau, Sr.; and brother, Earl John Soileau, Sr.

Memorial contributions for Mr. Soileau may be made to the Benevolence Committee of First Baptist Church, 1911 Nederland Avenue, Nederland, Texas 77627.

A gathering of Mr. Soileau’s family and friends will begin at 12:00 p.m., with his funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, June 25, 2017, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. His interment will follow at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County, Nederland.
