Wanda Elizabeth Mikko

January 31, 1946 - December 24, 2018

Wanda Elizabeth Mikko, 72, of Beaumont, died Monday, December 24, 2018. She was born on January 31, 1946, to Alice and Walter Cole Bennison, in Beaumont. When Wanda was young, she was an avid dancer who loved to do tap and participate in ballet. She loved to plant flowers in her garden and enjoyed being outdoors.

Survivors include her son, Kevin Mikko of Lehi, Utah; daughter, Kendra Mikko of Beaumont; sisters, Sandra Robinson and her husband, Ronald, of Port Neches and Jean Goodwin and her husband, Preston, of Spring; grandchildren, Katelin Mikko of Fort Collins, Colorado and Cole Mikko of Fort Worth; niece, Melanie Goodwin of California; and lifelong friends and caregivers, Glenn Mikko and Carmen Miller.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

A gathering of Ms. Mikko’s family and friends will be from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 28, 2018, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her graveside service will follow at 2:00 p.m., at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 4955 Pine Street, Beaumont.

So sorry to read in the Beaumont Enterprise that Wanda passed away. I have many fond memories of dance classes and recitals long ago with Wanda and Kendra. I also remember the beautiful stained glass pictures that Wanda once made. She made one for me of a hummingbird. I will treasure it always. My heartfelt sympathy to her family.
