Wanda Mae Breaux

Wanda Mae Breaux, 89, of Port Neches, died Sunday, December 10, 2017. She was born on September 3, 1928, in Port Arthur, to Jennie and William Fawvor.

Wanda was a wonderful and loving great-grandmother, grandmother, mother, wife and friend. She opened her heart and home to all who knew her.  She had a feistiness to her that we all loved to witness, and it is no surprise, that her feistiness was passed down to some of her children and grandchildren.  Her gumbo, cornbread dressing, roast with rice and gravy, and even a simple grilled cheese were unbeatable.  No one came to her home and left with an empty stomach.  A favorite pastime for her was sharing stories over a morning or afternoon cup of coffee.  The hours she loved to spend rocking her grandchildren and great grandchildren as babies, are too numerous to count.  She has left an imprint on all of our hearts that will never be forgotten.  She will be deeply missed.

Survivors include her sons, Mike Breaux and his wife, Debbie, of Brookeland and Randy Breaux and his wife, Belinda, of Anchorage, Alaska; daughter, Judy Smith of Port Neches; grandchildren, Shelly Kuempel and her husband, Jeff; Clint Breaux; Carlie Roy and her husband, Jarod; Brandi Burks and her husband, Brian; Leesa Letulle and her husband, James; Nathaniel Breaux; and Miranda Jones and her husband, Trevor; great-grandchildren, Brady Kuempel, Jacob Kuempel, Lincoln Breaux, Josie Mae Moore, Brookelyn Burks, Blakely Burks, Hannah Letulle, Josh Letulle, Heather Letulle, and one on the way, Shelby Mae Jones; and sister, Betty Joyce Healen.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jennie and William Fawvor; husband, Floyd Hampton Breaux; and brother, E.C. Fawvor.

A gathering of Mrs. Breaux’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 13, 2017, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 14, 2017, at Broussard’s, Nederland, with her entombment following at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.
