Wilbert C. Dutschmann

March 23, 1934 - October 16, 2017

Wilbert C. Dutschmann, 83, of Nederland, Texas died Monday, October 16, 2017. He was born on March 23, 1934, in Port Arthur, Texas to Amalie Lena Schkade Dutschmann and Alfred J. Dutschmann.

Wilbert was a United States Army veteran and a longtime member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Nederland, Texas. He retired from Texaco after over thirty years of service. Wilbert was a proud graduate of The University of Texas. He enjoyed working in the yard, traveling, and working on church projects.

Survivors include his wife of thirty-two years, Dorothy Dutschmann of Nederland, Texas; sons, Eric Dutschmann of Spring, Texas; Craig Dutschmann and his wife, Joelle, of LeMars, Iowa; Charles Blohm and his wife, Brenda of Orange, Texas; and Fred Blohm and his wife Sarah, of Orange, Texas; daughters, Dana Dutschmann of Rockdale, Texas and Carla Denney and her husband, Bill, of Spring, Texas; brother, Marvin Dutschmann of Humble, Texas; nephew, David Dutschmann and his wife, Ellen, of Humble, Texas; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and another son, Greg Dutschmann.

A gathering of Mr. Dutschmann’s family and friends will begin at 9:30 a.m., followed by his Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 30, 2017, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 2711 Helena Avenue, Nederland, Texas, under the direction of Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland, Texas. A committal will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Groves, Texas.
